Description
Everyone talks about the secrets of Freemasonry. Novelists weave tales about them, occultists dream them up and conspiracy theorists stir up fantasies, while Freemasons think of them as degrees, signs and passwords. Kevin L. Gest argues that they are all mistaken.
The true Masonic secrets, he shows, are hidden in plain view as allegories. To reveal them he goes back to the mediaeval trade guilds, which also spoke of protecting their mysteries and secrets, to the builders in stone and the legends of Euclid, and on through the degrees to the Royal Arch.
